England midfielder Conor Gallagher has officially been unveil as Atletico Madrid’s new player after a long wait.

Atletico Madrid have confirmed the signing of Gallagher from Chelsea on a five-year deal that will keep him at the Civitas Metropolitano until June 2029.

Gallagher had already undergone a medical with Atletico Madrid after agreeing a deal worth around £36m, but the signing was put on hold after Samu Omorodien’s move to Chelsea fail to materialise.

Gallagher’s returned to London last week following a mutual agreement between Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, ยูฟ่าเบท with the Blues now considering Joao Felix as their new target in a bid to lure the England midfielder to La Liga.

After Chelsea reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the signing of Felix and the Portugal international pass his medical, Gallagher returned to Spain to sign and be unveil.

Despite the delay in completing the move to the Spanish capital, Gallagher said he was confident things were going to work out.

“I wanted to come to the club and I saw that the club wanted me to. I knew it was going to work out and I’m very happy,” he added.

For Gallagher, he has been a key midfielder for Chelsea over the past two seasons. Playing 45 games and scoring three goals in 2022-23 and 50 games and scoring seven goals last season. While also being a key player for the England national team, playing 18 games since 2021.
