Dutch legend Johan Neeskens has died at the age of 73 in Algeria, with the cause of death yet to be determined.

Dutch legend Johan Neeskens died at the age of 73 the previous day in Algeria while he was taking part in a coaching programme organise by the Dutch Football Association, the Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) said on Monday, although the cause of death was not immediately disclose.
‘Words cannot describe this sudden and devastating loss. Our thoughts are with his wife Marlyse, his children, family and friends.’
‘The world is saying goodbye not only to a talented athlete, but above all to a compassionate, committed and excellent person,’ the KNVB said in a statement.
Neeskens made 49 appearances for the Netherlands, scoring 17 goals and helping the Dutch reach the World Cup finals twice, in 1974 and 1978.
While his former club Ajax Amsterdam posted on X, ‘We are deeply sadden to hear of the passing of Johan Neeskens. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. Rest in peace, Ajax legend.’
Barcelona, another former club of Neeskens, Promotion ufabet posted a message of condolence, saying: ‘A Barca legend who will always be remember. May he rest in peace.’
